There is a planet that no ship escapes. A place where death calls like a beacon amongst the waves of the living. This is the DEAD PLANET.

Dead Planet is the first module for the MOTHERSHIP Sci-Fi horror roleplaying game by Tuesday Knight Games. It's packed to the brim wtih usable, gameable content for any sci-fi rpg, including:

  • A one-page adventure on a derelict ship, called THE SCREAMING ON THE ALEXIS.
  • A planetcrawl of the dead planet with several locations, including the five-level underground bunker THE RED TOWER
  • An exploration of a ritual cannabilistic society traped on the Dead Planet's moon in MOON COLONY BLOODBATH
  • A generator for making your own derelict ships at the table
  • Several incredible tables ripe for stealing, including: d100 nightmares, d100 colonists, an eerie sculpture generator, and a hyperdrive malfunction table
  • And much, much more!

This adventure is suitable for characters of any level in a survival horror setting and is sure to pose a challenge to even the most battle hardened party. You can even find the core rules for Mothership here for Pay What You Want.

This is the main corebook for now, but it's getting updated and re-released later this year. a PDF of the WIP draft for the new rulebook is available for free in the Mothership Discord: https://discord.gg/PBPbBbDCYS

The tone and feel of the product sets the atmosphere of the game, and the random tables are creative, funny and dark. However, I would really like to be able to print the PDF without all the fancy formatting to be kinder on my ink supply! I notice on page 13 it says "printer friendly version at ...". I cannot find this version, can you shed more light on this? Thanks :)

Is there any way to get a higher resolution pdf? Even on 1080p, it puts a strain on the eyes. When I use my phone or tablet I don't have an issue, but it is definitely hard to read even looking at it in full-page on my pc. It might have something to do with the font you used or the optical effect of the color combo that is giving me serious eye strain. The tables on pg 12-13 with the older style font are easier to read, strangely enough, but are still an issue.

I guess I should clarify that it's pixelated at higher resolutions and larger screen sizes.

Hey, Dead Planet is awesome, but I have some problems with the alignment of the pages when viewed as double pages.
The center part where the pages meet "overlaps" for lack of a better term. It's not a big problem but it's a little distracting, especially with the maps that go across both pages.

Compared to fantasy, there are very few science fiction adventures that are considered classics of the highest order. I believe this is one of those few.

The theming and layout that Mothership is famous for continues in this adventure, making every page a delight. It includes an adventure that has an engrossing story behind it, but at the same time is built in such a way to be very sandbox-like allowing the players to interact with the events however much or as little as they wish. Including a timeline of events that happen if the PCs do nothing.

There are several generators included that can generate a whole mess of other game nights at the table after you have fully explored the locations included in Dead Planet.

While the Mothership rules go perfectly with this adventure, it is built in such a way that Dead Planet can be dropped into your Star Wars, Traveller, Starfinder or [insert scifi RPG here], easily without any mess.

It is spectacular. Buy it!

So the way this works is, the monster with 1 (5) can take 5 damage 1 time, and then it is dead. A monster with 3 (30) can take 30 hp of damage 3 times and then dies. If it takes 20 damage, and runs away, when you find it again it's back up to 3 (30). A given attack can do more than 30 damage, but it will only reduce the 3 (30) monster to 2 (30). Unless you like drop a building on it or something.

I love this thing an hour after buying it. Noticed a PDF print issue: using Adobe PDF and printing as an A4 booklet, pages 50 & 52 will chop half the map off and not print. I've played with the settings in multiple ways and used different printers but keep having the same result.

One quick question - is the building unit 20 feet x 20 feet or is it 20 meters x 20 meters? Several descriptions read meters, but sometimes there is a measurement of 20' x 20' used. The maps are closer to feet ...

Was wondering the same, then I did the calculations...
I'm rolling with 20x20 feet(6x6 meters) in my game. 20x20m would make for HUGE ships. I want my ships to be small and creepy :D

Bought it after reading the report on tenfootpole.org, sat down to take a quick look only, read for three hours straight. This is amazing stuff, weird horror plus scifi. Has a definite Alien vibe, confers a very claustrophobic feeling in closed spaces, creeps you out with eery descriptions of landmarks. The moon colony is a nightmare, no easy choices to be made. Mostly dense descriptions to work the DMs Imagination. The random tables (Lots!) live up to this.

Can't wait to unleash this on my players, i like them jumpy and on edge.
:) ;)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
